In a time where we're trying to get kids off the sofas and back into shape. In a time when we have kids that wont outlive their parents due to obesity and lack of exercise. In a time where....Governor Patterson of New York puts 55 state parks and historical sites on the chopping block.


Sure, these are hard economic time. I'm feeling it. I'm sorry though. You can't have it both ways. You can't be telling parents to get the kids out and then close the parks. Closing these areas also decimates the local economies because the tourism is gone.


One of the proposed closures is the climbing area at Minnewaska State Park Preserve.
