The Nation Park Service announced on Saturday that search teams believe they have found the body of Bryce Gillies the missing hiker from Northern Arizona University. Gillies entered the park last Saturday to backpack through the Deer Creek and Thunder River areas and planned to return on Monday. Search teams were sent out on Tuesday when he was reported missing.
This is the second death in the Grand Canyon this month. The first death was determined to be a suicide. A California man drove his car over the edge of the south rim and dropped 600 feet to the canyon floor below.

Lifeguards rescued two individuals that the media is calling 'climbers' in Torrey Pines, CA. I guess the act of climbing makes you a climber but I don't know that the sport of climbing would recognize these two individuals as climbers. They don't even appear to be wearing climbing shoes and honestly, look at what they are climbing. It looks like dirt bluff.

About eight years ago at Teton Pass free riding for mountain bikes began pretty much the same way mountain biking began everywhere else. It was a few dedicated individuals that went out onto public land and started poaching trails.
Freedom Riders is a film about going from poached trails and conflicts with the U.S. Forest Service to a full-on system of legal trails. It's the very first user specific trail system in Forest Service History.
The world premier is on April 19th in Montery, CA. The official release date is April 20th.
Zac Sunderland has spent the last eight months on a sailboat in an attempt to be the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe by sailboat. Along the way he's encountered times with no wind, storms, questionable people that led him to load his on board pistol and damage to the 36-foot Intrepid that required repairs.
His parents have been highly sportive of his journey and also criticized for allowing such a young person to set off on such an adventure.
Zac started his journey from California going west and is currently about halfway between Africa and South America. He's already covered much of the 40,000 mile journey.

Cannondale announced that they will be ending manufacturing of it's bicycles in the United States by 2010. All 2011 models will be manufactured in Taiwan.

Ten riders set a world record In Idaho for the most riders on the longest snowboard. The ten riders affixed cut-down snowboards together end to end with screws for a total length of 36 feet - 4 inches.
All ten males were Jewish and called it the minion board. A minion is what Jewish people call it when ten Jews get together to pray. They sang Hebrew songs and set off down the hill.
University of Illinois kinesiology and community health professor Robert Motl, a former competitive cyclist is doing research which has shown that caffeine reduces pain in exercise. More research is needed but a test group of 25 college-aged males has show some interesting results.
